Red Band Trailer for ‘Suburban Gothic’ Promises Something Amazing

SUBURBAN-GOTHIC-1 Sometimes there’s a place for humor in horror and sometimes it is just completely wrong. There’s a place – a very big place – for humor in Richard Bates Jr.’s new effort Suburban Gothic. This flick looks perfectly quirky. And well-written. And well-acted. And... Well, you should watch the new red band trailer after the jump, because it’s wicked good, and there’s no reason not to!

In addition to directing, Richard Bates Jr. co-writes with Mark Bruner. Look for a kick ass cast that includes Matthew Gray Gubler ((500) Days of Summer, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou), the ridiculously sexy Kat Dennings (Thor and the profoundly underrated Defendor), Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2, Robocop), Sally Kirkland (JFK, Bruce Almighty), Jeffrey Combs (The Frighteners, From Beyond), Muse Watson (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Assassins), and John Waters (Seed of Chucky, Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat).

No word on an official release just yet, but we’re hoping this one hits discs within the calendar year.

Synopsis: Raymond has a prestigious MBA, but he can’t find work. He can channel the paranormal, but chatting with a cute girl mystifies him. Kicked out of his big city apartment, Raymond returns home to his overbearing mother, ex-jock father, and beer-bellied classmates. But when a vengeful ghost terrorizes the small town, the city boy recruits Becca, a badass local bartender, to solve the mystery of the spirit threatening everyone’s lives.
