[Trailer] After More Than a Half Decade Shelved, ‘The Poughkeepsie Tapes’ Arrives

the-poughkeepsie-tapes The Poughkeepsie Tapes is one of those rare found footage films that manage to genuinely frighten audiences. While flawed on a slight level, the film is extremely convincing and really, really dark. Unfortunately the bulk of public audiences haven’t had the chance to see it. That all changes now.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is finally available on DirecTV VOD.

John Erick Dowdle directs as well as co-writes with his brother, Drew Dowdle. Stacy Chbosky, Ben Messmer, Samantha Robson, and Ivar Brogger star in this hauntingly effective effort.

Chew on the trailer below, and watch the movie, if you’re a DirecTV subscriber – it’s a surprisingly rewarding flick.

Synopsis: “When hundreds of videotapes showing torture, murder, and dismemberment are found in an abandoned house, they reveal a serial killer’s decade-long reign of terror and become the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives have ever seen.”
