Between Ghostbusters and The Shallows it feels like Sony is dumping every last penny they’ve got into promotion. That’s obviously not the case, but it is obvious that Sony aims to bring in a good number of viewers for their unleashing of The Shallows.
We all love a good shark movie. It’s unfortunate that there aren’t more good shark movies, but that’s a complaint for another day. For now, we’re going to settle in to watch another clip from The Shallows.
Jaume Collet-Serra directs from a script penned by Anthony Jaswinski. Blake Lively (The Town, The Age of Adaline), Óscar Jaenada (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, The Losers), Brett Cullen (The Dark Knight Rises, Ghost Rider) and Sedona Legge star.
The film will be released theatrically on June 24th.
Synopsis: Nancy (Lively) is surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a Great White and stranded just a short distance from shore. Though she is only 200 yards from her survival, getting there proves the ultimate contest of wills. It’s Jaws for a new generation.
