Season 3 Promo of ‘The Strain’ Promises the Best Season Yet

If you’re not up to speed on FX’s The Strain, we’ll enlighten you: It’s about a massive vampire outbreak in New York, where a handful of rogues and scientists desperately try to combat the overtaking before all humanity has vanished from the Five Burroughs.

The show features a strong cast that includes Corey Stoll (Ant-Man), David Bradley (Captain America: The First Avenger), Kevin Durand (Dark Was the Night) and Richard Sammel (Inglourious Basterds) to name just a few.

Both of the first two seasons have produced some ups and downs. Both seasons ended on rather anticlimactic notes, but there’re also plenty of strong moments throughout each season. It makes for an interesting watch. And it’s returning for a third season on August 28th.

In order to get home viewers pumped and fully primed for the return of The Strain, FX has released an absolutely awesome trailer. Check it out below, it’s actually one of the coolest shots to be featured through two full seasons!

Synopsis: It can no longer be denied — New York City is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Its citizens must fight or die.

Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his unlikely allies tried to take down the embodiment of this evil — the Master — and failed. Now Eph and Dr. Nora Martinez concentrate on creating a biological weapon to wipe out the creatures, while Abraham Setrakian searches for an ancient book he hopes will reveal the strigoi’s entire history…and possibly a way to kill them. Meanwhile, the Master is out for revenge, unleashing new and even more terrifying breeds of bloodthirsty creatures. They need to find a way to defeat him before the infection spreads too far and becomes irreparable…before they become monsters themselves.
