‘The Predator’ Will Feature Special Effects from a Highly Respected Company
Is today International Remake Day? We’ve heard Pumpkinhead chatter, Friday the 13th chatter, Suspiria chatter… and now, Predator chatter. Whew, someone give us something new!
Okay, all sarcasm aside, this Predator news is actually pretty damn awesome!
According to AVPGalaxy, the upcoming Predator reboot/re-imaging/remake/re-whatever, The Predator, will feature special effects work from Tom Woodruff, Jr., and Alec Gillis’ respected Amalgamated Dynamics Inc. That’s actually awesome news, as these guys have handled special effects for killer flicks Godzilla, Odd Thomas, Spider-Man 1-3 and Panic Room, to name just a select few. They should make for a perfect Predator fit!
Shane Black (who starred in the original film as Hawkins) is directing the new film, which is said to have an Aliens, action-oriented tone. Black also co-writes with the great Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad, Night of the Creeps).
We haven’t heard any solid casting news yet, but rumor has it Arnold Schwarzenegger, 50 Cent and James Franco are all in talks to star in the flick.
The film is expected to see release on February 9th, 2018.
We’ll keep you updated as more info rolls in!
