According to Negan AKA Jeffrey Dean Morgan, More Than One of Rick’s Men Will Die in Season 7 Launch
Warning: This article contains potential spoilers for the season seven launch of The Walking Dead. If you don’t want to know who Negan kills, you probably want to get away from this page ASAP.
Just a day or so back we gave you a fairly thorough rundown of who would meet Negan’s savage weapon, Lucille (read all about it here, but beware, huge spoilers await), in the Season 7 launch of AMC’s blockbuster series, The Walking Dead.
While the revelation of the series’ first victim comes as a heartbreaking shock, we may be in for a double dose of hero homicide.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the uber bad guy, Negan, recently spoke with Den of Geek! and dropped what is likely an honest (not that it’s impossible, or even improbable that AMC did some serious advance coaching) piece of 411. And that information is only going to further hurt the sensitive folks who follow the series.
“Negan’s not just going to kill one person in [the Premier]” said Morgan.
This statement actually may support a number of fan theories out there, many of which have pegged Abraham as the second protagonist to meet a violent end at the hands (and bat) of Negan.
But we’ve got an entirely different idea of who may wind up as an expired carcass.
Maggie is the character we can almost guarantee dies in the season opener, and that doesn’t necessarily seem to jive too much with the belief that Abraham (a huge fan theory) will be slaughtered in the episode.
What does make sense, however, is that Glenn will be the other character meeting his end in The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.
Glenn may not be the most alpha member in the ensemble, but Maggie is his girl. She’s his wife, and she’s with child. And it’s hard to imagine any world where father-to-be, Glenn sits back idly while the love of his life is beaten into a pile of carnage. The most likely scenario sees Glenn snapping and attacking as Maggie is brutalized by Negan and Lucille.
While this is all speculation on my part, I’m confident in saying that Glenn will attempt to attack Negan as he’s having his savage way with the lovable Maggie, and that won’t sit well with Negan.
Defiance doesn’t pay off in Negan’s world.
Early rumors indicated that Glenn would be first to die, while Abraham loses control and attacks Negan, leading to inevitable doom. Rumors also indicated that Abraham may be stabbed, leading to a slow and painful death.
We don’t buy that.
Here’s our theory: Maggie is beaten to death while Glenn watches… and then completely loses it. He’ll be hauled off with little effort by Negan, and after he’s finished with Maggie, he’ll pull Glenn from restraint and give Lucille a second portion of brain matter.
We’re going to stick by this theory until we’re either proven wrong, or proven correct on October 23rd, when The Walking Dead officially returns.
