We didn’t leap to immediately share this news with you when these images first surfaced on SoIsItAnyGood.com a few weeks back. We simply assumed the studio would be all over this, demanding the images be yanked from the interwebs. Well, that hasn’t completely happened, so we’re thinking it’s time we point you in the direction of the brand new face hugging monstrosities from Alien: Covenant!
These beasts obviously look extremely similar to some of the creature designs of the past, but they’ve also got a uniqueness about them that is noticeable upon first glance. We’re confident they’re recognizable enough to please hardcores and original enough to please those of us who’ve been following the franchise for decades.
But you go ahead and draw your own conclusions. We’re still going to avoid posting these shots, but you can head over to ihorror, who still have a few of the stills up for you to check out!
Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridley Scott who helms from a script penned by Michael Green, John Logan and Jack Paglen. Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston, Guy Pearce, Billy Crudup and Danny McBride star.
Look for the film to hit theaters on August 4th, 2017.
Synopsis: Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
