Don’t feel about harboring some doubts regarding the latest Amityville movie. There are about 36 of them in existence and one, maybe two are actually enjoyable. Franck Khalfoun (who helmed the brilliant Maniac remake and the cool seasonal thriller P2) however, will likely produce a film to take note of. He’s got serious skills, and he’s the perfect fit for Amityville: The Awakening.
After a number of delays it’s going to be great to examine what Khalfoun can do with a picture that floated face down in the forgotten chilly cinematic stream for more than a single year. Our fingers are certainly crossed.
Khalfoun will also pen the script.
Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan, Jennifer Morrison, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurtwood Smith and Thomas Mann star.
Amityville: The Awakening will arrive in theaters on January 6th.
Synopsis: Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
