Carl is the Next Key Character to Die in ‘The Walking Dead’!

Well, that’s what we’re speculating after William Riggs – father to Chandler Riggs, who plays young Carl Grimes – took to Facebook and posted a very disconcerting message.
While the Facebook post has since been deleted (you know AMC execs were eager to crucify William for this one!), the message is alive and well all over the net. This is what Chandler’s father had to say:
“7 year contract completed! Grateful to AMC, Cast & Crew, TWD fan base and especially Chandler for always being 100% dedicated. Whether it was getting up at 4AM, working in the freezing cold past 2AM, leaving his friends and carefree kiddom behind, scrambling to make up missed schoolwork, he has done it without complaint and always made me proud & amazed to be his dad!”
That certainly sounds like a big farewell to the Walking Dead crew, and it also lines up pretty well with recent speculation that Carl is a doomed player in season 7. That of course calls to mind an interesting question: with Rick aging, and Carl looking like the character that would ultimately usurp his father as leader, who in the world will take the reins once Rick’s physical limitations catch up to him? We all know it’s an inevitability given the war that’s about to get underway with Negan.
Could Daryl be the new heroic leader in future seasons? Is AMC already planning the end of this long-running but immensely successful show? How far does the network plan to take the story?
We just don’t know yet. But don’t you dare be surprised to see Carl meet his end in season 7. In fact, many fanatics have predicted Carl’s passing in the very next episode, 7.05, Go Getters, which airs this coming Sunday.
If this is the case, we’re a little heart broken. Carl’s been a great character, and it’s been a blast watching Riggs grow up in such a dangerous world.
Stay tuned on Sunday – we may be witnessing a damn depressing episode.
