The next five months are going to be brutal. Few films carry the intrigue that Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant does, and that means the buildup to release is going to be wonderful in a stimulating sense but damn painful waiting for the days to drag on. This could be the commercial smash hit of 2017, and if it’s even remotely near as gratifying as the other films in the franchise, it’s going to win a quick spot on many a fans favorite list.
Personally, the idea of a back-burster is already enough to have me salivating. You’ll get a very quick peek at that in the trailer.
The film stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, James Franco, and Noomi Rapace.
Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
Synopsis: The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
