‘Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon’ Gets a Sprequel!

This is great news for fans, as Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon was a terrific film and we nut-jobs have been clamoring for a sequel for years. However, despite the fact that we will soon see another project in the franchise, many are going to be a little disappointed to learn that the follow-up will come our way in comic book form.

Personally, I’m good with that, the question is: will everyone else be?

Word boke of the follow up at SXSW, and this what we took away from the event, which screened the film for its 10-year anniversary.

You’ve been dying to know what happened to Leslie Vernon after you saw him pop back up in the morgue during the end credits of Behind the Mask and here’s your chance! The screenplay for our sequel, Before the Mask: the Return of Leslie Vernon is being transposed into a comic series and we are ready to unleash it on you, our fans!

There’s an Indiegogo campaign in effect now, and that should help get the initial three issues of a planned eight issue run completed. Where we go from there is anyone’s guess, but we’re definitely encouraging you to donate to the campaign!
