From the Maker of ‘Annabelle’ Comes ‘Wish Upon’
John R. Leonetti will return to the horror genre this summer when his latest pic, Wish Upon hits theaters on July 14th. Perhaps best known for helming Annabelle, Leonetti will no doubt be looking to apply new techniques and tactics as he continues his quest to impress those of us who love a good old fashioned horror flick. And, while Annabelle was a bit disappointing, we’re all for supporting Leonetti – the more talented filmmakers we have focusing on the genre, the better.
You can check out the trailer for Wish Upon below. It’s got the look of a teen horror piece, but every once in a while we do get a winner of the subgenre, so we’re staying positive!
Leonetti will direct from a script written by Barbara Marshall.
Joey King, Sherilyn Fenn, Elisabeth Röhm, and Ryan Phillippe star.
Synopsis:
A teen girl discovers a magical box that will grant her seven wishes. As she uses her wishes for personal gain, bad things begin to happen to those around her. She discovers an evil entity lives inside the box and may be behind the gruesome deaths.
