John Carpenter’s Wife Sandy King Carpenter Shares Her Picks for Top 3 Carpenter Films
Over the years I’ve come to realize that social media is a tool that benefits all parties when used properly. Reach out to an idol, and they may just reach right back. That’s the name of the game, and while 2017 seems a lot less personal than, say, 1990, the format in which stars and fans interact has added a very atypical wrinkle to the fold.
Fans have direct access to celebrities.
So do genre outlets and journalists.
I leaned on some of the relationships I’ve built over time for the following piece of info, which, while not paramount in any way, is still pretty damn cool to most horror fans.
I recently touched bases with Sandy King Carpenter, wife to the great John Carpenter, and inquired about her favorite of all favorite Carpenter’s films. Fortunately for all of us, she was more than prepared to drop her honest list of favorite Carpenter flicks!
“The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York/They Live…hard to choose…” states Sandy, who, interestingly enough doesn’t list heavy favorite Halloween, or sleeper nom, Christine.
Sandy is obviously more than suited to express her honest opinions of Carpenter’s work. I applaud her for her honesty, even if her opinion differs from mine (for the record would look something like this: The Thing, Halloween, Christine).
No matter how shake it, John Carpenter and the work he is currently plugging away at has invested in a new energy. This this is simply impossible to be miss!
