Happy Birthday, Heather Langenkamp, P.J. Soles and Donald Sutherland
Today’s a good day to have a birthday, if you happen to be an extremely important contributor to the horror genre. Heather Langenkamp, P.J. Soles and Donald Sutherland were all born today, so let’s give them a collective Happy Birthday!
Langenkamp, who turns 53 today, is back on the scene! The woman who played foil to Freddy Krueger’ plans to slaughter without distraction, and again returned to realize her Nightmare on Elm Street in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, is back with a pair of new films headed our way soon. Truth or Dare and Hellraiser: Judgment are both still slated for release this year!
P.J. Soles turns 67 today, and while her work in the genre isn’t as extensive as some, she has had a few important roles over the years. Soles will most likely be recognized as Lynda, from John Carpenter’s Halloween, but she also popped up in Carrie, The Tooth Fairy and Rob Zombie’s, The Devil’s Rejects.
And finally, we get to the great Donald Sutherland. Sutherland turns 82 years young today. The living legend has surfaced in our genre on numerous occasions though he’ll likely best be remembered by fans of the macabre for his work in the Invasion of the Body Snatchers remake, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and An American Haunting. Other horror credits include Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors, Die! Die! My Darling!, Don’t Look Now, and Virus.
We want to reiterate our birthday wishes to this amazing trio. You’ve done a lot for us, and we’re quite appreciative!
