The ‘Leatherface’ Trailer is Finally Here… and Surprisingly Awesome
I think we’re all a little curious about the new Leatherface. The trailer just arrived, finally, and to be honest, it only inspires more questions.
First off, let me just say that Leatherface does indeed look like a legit prequel, which is awesome. I think we all would have liked seeing a strong prequel from Texas Chainsaw 3D, as opposed to a pointless and heartless cash grab, but is this movie destined for something much greater? What in the world pushes a young Leatherface to become Leatherface, at all? Why is the sheriff so pissed off? Are Alexandre Bustillo, and Julien Maury the brilliant filmmakers it so seems?
The trailer looks better than anything we’ve seen from the TCSM franchise in years. It’s pretty bad ass, in all honesty. We’re excited.
The aforementioned Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury (who gave us the awesome Inside, Livid and Among the Living) direct from a script written by Seth M. Sherwood.
The cast is excellent, and includes appearances from Lili Taylor, Stephen Dorff, Nicole Andrews and youngsters James Bloor, Sam Coleman and Sam Strike.
Leatherface is currently scheduled for an October 20th theatrical debut.
Synopsis:
Prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.
