Rest in Peace: John Heard

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that prolific actor, John Heard passed away yesterday while recovering from back surgery. He was 72 years old.

While Heard will no doubt be best remembered for his role as the endearing father in Home Alone, he had an extensive resume, and he surfaced in our beloved genre on a number of occasions.

Hardcore fans may remember Heard for his appearances C.H.U.D., Too Scared to Scream, the televisions series’ Tales from the Darkside, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Outer Limits. He also starred in The Seventh Sign, Would You Rather, and Sharknado.
