Another ‘Purge’ is On the Way Come the 4th of July Next Year

The Purge

Fans of The Purge franchise will likely be stoked to hear that a fourth film in the series is headed our way. We can expect to see the film hit theaters next year on the 4th of July.

This film, unlike the previous three will not be helmed by franchise creator James DeMonaco, who has shown a brilliant growth from the first film to the third. He’s the man whose talents we’ve grown accustomed to seeing come The Purge, but this time out we’re going to have to trust director Gerard McMurray to deliver the goods.

DeMonaco seems to have supreme belief in McMurray.

“I have not seen a film as confidently directed in a long time as Burning Sands, and I’m excited to see Gerard’s own expression of the Purge world.”

McMurray indeed seems to sport the talent to make it happen, though there’s always cause for a hint of doubt when a creator of DeMonaco’s caliber hands over the reigns to his beautiful beast.

While James isn’t going to be behind the camera for this trek, he will still be writing the story. We’ll keep you updated as more info rolls in on the latest addition to The Purge franchise!
