On This Day in Horror History: 36 Years Ago ‘Student Bodies’ Got Chopped Up in Theaters
It’s been 36 years since Mickey Rose and Michael Ritchie’s silly slasher Student Bodies hit theaters. While the film did debut in the top slot, it did so with a meager $1,582,148 (that’s about $4.2 million adjusted for inflation). That said, that’s not a terrible tally for a flick that only landed on 628 screens.
Student Bodies would go on to gross a total $5,165,432 (again, with inflation calculated that amounts to roughly $14 million).
A few other August 7th arrivals also worthy of note are Invisible Agent (1942), Heavy Metal (1981) and Raising Cain (1992).
