This isn’t the newsiest of news, but it is mighty relevant because we horror fans adore Pete Travis’s beautifully gritty Dredd, and we loved what Karl Urban did with the character. He slayed as the man of law in Mega City One (sorry Sly, but Karl completely smoked you in that law-man outfit!), and we can’t imagine anyone else donning that legendary helmet.
Urban, while speaking at a “Star Trek” Las Vegas Convention fielded a question about Dredd and the possibility of a long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel. Most importantly, he touched down on whether or not he’d be game to reprise his role.
“I am in discussions with them about that,” Urban revealed. “I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to.”
We’d love to see you back in the saddle as well, Karl. And right about now, I’m thinking it would be nothing short of legendary to see Urban return to the fold for an adaptation of the amazing Cry of the Werewolf storyline. Dredd, brutality, monsters, mayhem… yeah, sign us up!
