Author H.P. Lovecraft H.P. Lovecraft

127 years ago today the great H.P Lovecraft was born. Lovecraft’s dark, fantastical, often monstrous stories have long influenced everyone from authors to filmmakers. He had an artistic strength that translated to page beautifully, so we owe him not only a great debt, but a warm happy birthday. Your body may no longer live, but your legacy thrives.

Lovecraft wrote several stunning tales that have found their way to film by numerous highly talented filmmakers. A few fan favorite adaptations include The Dunwich Horror, Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, and Dagon.

Rest in peace, Mr. Lovecraft, and do so knowing that you may very well be the most influential man in horror history.
