‘The Conjuring’ Universe Surpasses $1 Billion at the Box Office; Figures Inside

Top 5 Scream Queens of Tomorrow: A Women in Horror Month List

Now here’s a feat that is not to be scoffed at. James Wan’s blossoming Conjuring universe has officially broken the $1 billion at the worldwide box office. That’s an awful lot of dead presidents, reaching an awfully large audience. Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and distribution at Warner Bros, spoke on the accomplishment

“We are thrilled with the success of ‘Annabelle: Creation’ and enormously proud to continue bringing this hugely popular ‘Conjuring’ franchise to theaters everywhere,” said Kroll. “We congratulate our colleagues at New Line Cinema, our astute marketing and distribution teams, and everyone who put their collective creative energies together to tell such wonderfully frightening stories for movie audiences around the world to enjoy.”

So, we owe a big congratulations! to Wan and every other extremely talented individual involved in the creation, marketing, release and distribution of these films.

Here’s a breakdown of how much money each movie in the shared universe has made:

The Conjuring: $318,000,141

The Conjuring 2: $320,270,008

Annabelle: $256,873,813

Annabelle: Creation: $162,856,901

Those figures make for a $1,058,000,863 total, and Annabelle: Creation still has a little steam to blow off before slipping out of theaters. Very impressive!

Keep in mind, The Nun, The Crooked Man and The Conjuring 3 are all in the works. We might end up seeing the highest grossing horror franchise in history!
