This Coming Halloween Look into A Tricky Treat (Review)
Written by: Matt Molgaard
Directed by: Patricia Chica
Cast: Leonard Waldner, Steve Brewster, Andrea Fletcher
This marks the second review I’ve written of the film. But, I’m a big supporter of ChicArtPR, so whether I’ve covered it or not, I’ve got their backs, as they’ve done a great job of putting solid films in my hands… or hard drives – you get the picture.
As for a Tricky Treat, it’s absolutely brilliant. It’s Halloween tradition in reverse. It’s simple creativity. It’s effective visuals. It’s the complete essence of Halloween, completely and accurately wrapped in a clever little package.
I can’t spill too many details on the film – it’s extremely brief. But I can say this, prepare for a glorious alternate take on some Halloween traditions most Americans have been growing up with for decades. And, keep your eye out for a really, really successful twist.
The film looks fantastic, and Patricia Chica is sublime behind the camera. Further respect goes out to the crew behind the camera and what appears to be some seamless digital enhancements.
Excellent film we recommend you look into this coming Halloween. If we’re lucky we’ll be able to order it soon (cough – I wouldn’t be – cough – mad at even a bootleg – cough – Patricia!) enough on DVD!
