‘Stake Land 2’ Hits SyFy Tomorrow!
After a few lengthy years of waiting and biting our fingernails off, we’re finally going to see Stake Land 2, the obvious follow up to Jim Mickle’s thoroughly enjoyable end-of-the-world vampire piece, Stake Land.
Fans were overjoyed to learn that production on the film got under way some months ago, but a little puzzled as to why we hadn’t heard much of anything in regards to details.
I suppose we could liken the Stake Land 2 production to Adam Wingard’s secretive Blair Witch sequel (we’re hoping Stake Land 2 isn’t met with indifference, as Blair Witch was). However, unlike Blair Witch, Stake Land 2 won’t be battling to draw viewers to theaters. No, SyFy will air Stake Land 2 as a part of its awesome Halloween celebratory marathon.
We couldn’t possibly be any more excited!
Okay, I retract that last statement: we can and are more excited, as this one will premiere Tomorrow at 9 PM/8 PM on SyFy!
While it is indeed a bummer to learn that Mickle won’t be directing the film, there are still some noteworthy players attached to the production.
Dan Berk & Robert Olsen direct, while Connor Paolo returns to reprise his role, as does Nick Damici, who played the awesome Mister. Laura Abramson (Wolfcop), A.C. Peterson (Sucker Punch), Bonnie Dennison (Beneath) will also be returning to the franchise. Kristina Hughes (Ferocious) and Steve Williams (Supernatural) round out the cast.
Synopsis: After a personal tragedy, Martin ventures into the American badlands in search of legendary vampire hunter Mister, hoping to reteam with him against a rapidly escalating threat posed by highly evolved vampires and their frightening allies.
