Neil deGrasse Tyson Talks Godzilla

Now we all know how believable Godzilla is as a character (that’s sarcasm by the way), but unfortunately Neil deGrasse Tyson says it just ain’t gonna happen.

Along with being a major authority in the world of science and his numerous TV appearances, including his own show, “In his spare time, Tyson uses his vast scientific knowledge to pursue the noble cause of debunking the silly and impossible things that happen in Hollywood movies.” He has previously discussed flaws in space travel in Alien Covenant:

Now his target is the lovable lizard Godzilla. Tyson states that Godzilla could never exist because physics wouldn’t allow for such a large creature to exist–a lizard-type animal would be too heavy to stand upright and support its own limbs. He goes on to scoff at the big-bug movies of the 1950s: insects can’t be blown up to massive size and still function as though they were normal-sized. But Godzilla is a product of radiation, you say? Just watch the clip.

I'm a mom who loves horror movies, the '80s, and the library. I write about the above three topics more than is healthy. I've got reviews, listicles, lil nonfiction pieces, and random bits of whutnot. I also included some pretentious as hell microfiction (don't worry, it's at the bottom). Because horror is life and vice versa.
