‘Ghostbusters’ Return to the Small Screen in Animated Form
It’s been too long since we saw a new, interesting and creepy animated series for the Ghostbusters, but that’s going to change in 2018.
I know, 2018 – blah, blah, blah.
It’s a long wait, and it’s strange to send a new Ghostbusters animated tale home two years after the release of the reboot, but hey, what can you do? Perhaps Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters will be a smash hit, immediately justifying a sequel, which we’d probably see around 2018, 2019. It all makes sense under those circumstances.
Those circumstances however, seem less than likely, given the flood of negativity surrounding the new Ghostbusters flick. We’ll see how it all pans out.
In the meantime, here’s the scoop, directly from Deadline:
A brand new animated television series, GHOSTBUSTERS: ECTO FORCE, will further expand the Ghostbusters cinematic universe and focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters in the year 2050 who capture ghosts around the world with help from local teams—and some very cool gear! The younger-skewing Sony Pictures Animation project is being creatively spearheaded by Ivan Reitman and his production company Ghost Corps. GHOSTBUSTERS: ECTO FORCE is eyeing an early 2018 debut.
