10 Horror Commercials Guaranteed to Disrupt Your Sleep and Haunt Your Kids

Dolls Go Full-on Terrifying in this Vintage Remco Commercial

So it seems Remco was quite content to leave our daughters mortified and deeply traumatized, for the long haul.

Over the years we’ve seen some humorous dolls manufactured, a couple annoying dolls manufactured and, of course some downright terrifying dolls manufactured. Remco’s 1970 offering, Remco’s Baby Laugh a Lot, one of the worst, and most distressing dolls ever made.

This could-be-cute little toy should have been a winner… instead it felt more… haunting, to be kind. The baby breaks out into maniacal laughter that could have been a perfect laugh track for Fritz Lang’s epically chilling M. Seriously, it’s got that vibe down without so much as a hiccup (speaking of hiccups, can’t we just stick to Nenuco Doll Happy Hiccups and abolish the concept of ever again creating an “interactive” doll?

Not back in the day, that’s clear.

Baby Laugh a Lot was probably a failure on the market (it’s tough to pull any solid testimony or reliable critical and parental input on this 46 year old bastard child that it seems everyone wanted to forget), but if the doll itself wasn’t, this commercial was no doubt deemed a kamikaze in spiraling motion. It’s bad enough that the doll’s laughter is so disturbing, the commercial’s narrator takes maniacal to entirely new heights, sounding as if he were recording said narrative from the confines of a padded room. The whole ordeal definitely fails to leave a comforting feeling in parents, and likely children as well.
