Check Out the New Trailer for Rob Zombie’s ’31’
Evil clowns, hillbilly fashion, and axes a-plenty are all on display in the new trailer for Rob Zombie’s 31.
This trailer is all about feeling, leaving plot to the viewers speculation (or, ya know, imdb.com), which I appreciate. Far too many studios err on the side of telling you everything, so it’s refreshing to see a trailer that leaves you with more questions than answers.
From the oily mix of blood and dirt slathered on every actor to the saturated sepia-toned lighting, Zombie’s style is on full display. It’s been a few years since we’ve seen Zombie in the director’s chair, and his last film, Lords of Salem, was met with mixed reviews.
Every one of his films has seemed like a step toward an eventual cohesion of his sub genre. It’s been fun to watch him grow as a film maker. I’d like to see 31 hit it out of the park.
Synopsis: Five carnival workers are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game or life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs.
