New Series Based on Stephen King’s Fictional Town Castle Rock

Hulu and J.J. Abrams, the team behind 11.22.63, are coming together again to produce a TV series based on Castle Rock, the setting of multiple works by Stephen King. Said works include The Dead Zone, Cujo, The Dark Half, Needful Things, Doctor Sleep, Revival, and even his newest, Gwendy’s Button Box.

Bloodydisgusting.com makes it sound just amazing:”A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, ‘Castle Rock’ combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The first-of-its-kind reimagining explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories and characters.”

Details are sparse about who those characters are or who will play them. So far the only name floating around is Andre Holland (American Horror Story, Moonlight), who is set to star as a death row attorney. Filming will begin this summer.

I'm a mom who loves horror movies, the '80s, and the library. I write about the above three topics more than is healthy. I've got reviews, listicles, lil nonfiction pieces, and random bits of whutnot. I also included some pretentious as hell microfiction (don't worry, it's at the bottom). Because horror is life and vice versa.
