Haunted Baby Swing Video is as Hilarious as it is Creepy

Kids’ toys are terrifying. Everyone knows that, except kids. Well, it turns out baby swings can be just as eerie.

In a YouTube video made by the channel NathanDuceTV, a purveyor of short horror films and horror stories, Duce features a real life horror: his child’s seemingly possessed baby swing.

Most infant toys that play music feature a mix of nursery rhymes that sounds like a music box. This seat however has barely intelligible songs performed by distorted voices. The songs get increasingly more garbled, and Duce jams the power button, to no avail. Even when he removes all of the batteries, the voices get deeper and slower but keep going.

The main focus is the odd music coming from the seat, but the direction is clever as well. It opens with a closeup of the swing, then cuts to Duce’s hand turning it on, then moves to a slow pan of the innocent child’s bedroom back to the swing, squatting in the corner merrily swinging by itself. Battery-generated baby swings are supposed to swing under their own power, but when they’re empty and squealing incomprehensible folk songs, it makes for a sinister scene.
