‘Bad Moon’, ‘Return of the Living Dead: Collector’s Edition’ Hit Blu-ray this Week

It’s not the most fruitful time for genre releases, but there’re a few new discs being made available during these waning weeks of July that you’re definitely going to want to add to your collection. The new Blu-ray release of Bad Moon looks amazing, and the Collector’s Edition of Return of the Living Dead is an absolute must-have this week. They’re the stars, no doubt, but hardcores may find something more to chew on.

Check out the full breakdown of horror hitting shelves this week:

Bad Moon

A photo journalist (Michael Pare) is hiding something horrific: at night he transforms into a murderous werewolf. How can he keep his kin… sister Mariel Hemingway and nephew Mason Gamble from finding out? Shift the blame by pinning the area killings on the one household member that senses his secret, the family’s devoted German Shepherd.

The Return of the Living Dead (1985) (Collector’s Edition Blu-ray)

When a bumbling pair of employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to re-animate as they go on a rampage through Louisville, Kentucky seeking their favorite food, brains.

Black Fly

A troubled teenager and his older brother reconnect, setting off a powder keg of buried secrets, paranoia and murder. Inspired by true events.

Bitten: The Final Season

With the shocking introduction of Elena’s father and half-siblings, a family she never knew existed, Season 3 of “Bitten” will force Elena into a vicious battle against a merciless Pack of Russian werewolves hell bent on destroying her, her family and her Pack. While “Bitten’s” first and second seasons brought the real-world tone of “Sons of Anarchy” and the darker supernatural elements of “True Detective”, Season 3 delves into the theme of duty vs. family also explored in “The Americans” and “Bloodline.”
