‘Downhill’ is One of the More Promising Horror Titles Screening at Frightfest 2016
The following single sentence sales pitch is probably about as perfect as it gets: The director of Hidden in the Woods takes you on a crazy ride in the Chilean mountains filled with deranged hunters, naked witches and a deadly virus.
If that doesn’t leave you intrigued, log off. From life.
Seriously, Downhill sounds like a slick pic with some true insanity awaiting viewers and a couple promising talents investing hard work in front of the cameras. If you happen to be attending Frightfest 2016, you’ll get your chance to soak it all up, as it will be playing in the Main Screen strand on Sunday, August 28th.
The movie will play on Screen 9 at 10:45am, Screen 5 at 1:15pm, and Screen 12 at 4:00pm. If you miss the morning screening, you’ll have a few additional chances to catch the flick, and we’re recommending you do just that. If you need a little extra persuasion, look into the certifiably killer trailer below.
The film is directed by Patricio Valladares, who co-writes with Barry Keating. Natalie Burn (The Expendables 3), Ariel Levy (The Green Inferno), Ignacia Allamand (Knock, Knock), Bryce Draper (Muck) and Matías López (Aftershock) star.
Synopsis: After his best friend dies in a racing accident, biking star Joe agrees to go back on the wheels for an exhibition in Chile. On a test run with his girlfriend Stephanie, they stumble upon a badly injured man dying from a mysterious virus. That’s the start of a very bad day for them as they become the target of relentless killers ready to do anything to keep their secret to go out of the mountains!
Mixing GoPro footage and stunning cinematography of the mesmerising Chilean wilderness, DOWNHILL slowly transforms from a sports movie into a body horror tale just as the characters are transformed by something hidden inside them just waiting to burst out…
