There’s something in Ross Noble’s performance as the titular character, Stitches, that almost calls to mind sympathy, and pity. Almost. The truth is, this a ruthless feature about a clown who suffers a fatal injury while performing a cliché shtick at a child’s birthday party. The death is an accident, no doubt, but Stitches, or the very tangible ghost of Stitches, for that matter, doesn’t give a damn. He returns, and there will be blood.

Stitches is stuffed with black humor, and the occasional graphic death scene. It’s a nod to 80s fare for sure, but it’s a loving nod, and Ross Noble is absolutely amazing as the killer clown. This one will disturb you. It earns high recommendation.
