In Light of the Developing ‘Child’s Play 7’ We’re Ranking the Entire Franchise from First to Worst!
Child’s Play 2
1-10 Rating Scale: 8.4
The Verdict: Chuck was already headed into territory typically occupied by standup comedians by the time the first sequel arrive, but the film is still damn brutal. We get some great death scenes, some strong one liners that feel relatively organic and – fortunately for everyone – the movie feels like a legitimate sequel as opposed to an in-name only follow up. The story proves a little light on characters we can cheer for, but that doesn’t bring a halt to the fun.
Synopsis: Andy Barclay has been placed in a foster home after the tragic events of the first film, since his mother was committed. In an attempt to save their reputation, the manufacturers of Chucky reconstruct the killer doll, to prove to the public that nothing was wrong with it in the first place. In doing so, they also bring the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray back to life. As Chucky tries to locate Andy, the body count rises. Will Andy be able to escape, or will Chucky succeed in possessing his body?
