In Light of the Developing ‘Child’s Play 7’ We’re Ranking the Entire Franchise from First to Worst!

Child’s Play 3

1-10 Rating Scale: 6

The Verdict: As far as I’m concerned, Child’s Play 3 is the only fail of the franchise (that in itself speaks testament to the quality and consistency of the franchise). And sadly, I think the movie falls apart as a direct result of casting. I don’t have a thing in the world against Justin Whalin, but a worse Andy Barclay could not have possibly been cast. Whalin just wasn’t Andy! Because of that it’s a strain just to invest in the film. What saves the pic, however, is a particularly gruesome finale with some stellar special effects and the performance of Jeremy Sylvers, who plays the confused but naturally magnetic Tyler.

Synopsis: It’s been eight years since the events in the second film, we now see that Andy is a teenager who has been enrolled in a military school. Play Pals Toy Company decides to re-release its Good Guys line, feeling that after all this time, the bad publicity has died down. As they re-used old materials, the spirit of Charles Lee Ray once again comes to life. In his search for Andy, Chucky falls into the hands of a younger boy, and he realizes that it may be easier to transfer his soul into this unsuspecting child. Andy is the only one who knows what Chucky is up to, and it’s now up to him to put a stop to it.
