RIP: 9 Years Ago the Smooth Isaac Hayes Died at 65 Years Old

Isaac Hayes may best be remembered for his silky smooth voice and naturally suave demeanor. Those are great qualities, but they don’t necessarily relate to this genre. But that didn’t keep Hayes away from appearing in a number of horror productions, and that most certainly earns the legend a spot on this horror-themed site. It’s just a shame that a stroke ended the man’s life at just 65 year old.

Among the numerous horror flicks that Hayes surfaced in, Return to Sleepaway Camp, Escape from L.A., Escape from New York and an appearance on Tales from the Crypt are probably the appearances he’s best known for by horror freaks.

It’s a shame we lost such a magnetic personality at a relatively tender age, but that doesn’t mean Hayes’ legacy will ever die.
