10 Ultraviolent Films That Shock to the Core
Saw III
Here’s another film that I’ll limit my commentary on. Saw III features all the maneuvers one would expect from a Saw film, including torture, moral lessons, forced courage and of course, some highly disturbing death scenes. However, this installment – this repulsive installment – showcases one of the most disgusting Jigsaw traps ever created.
I’ll give you a hint: The puzzle in question involves a torture rack, and a whole hell of a lot of broken bones. Sometimes less is more, but that idea apparently flew from the window while working on this film, as it clearly set out to make the first two franchise installments look like tame affairs.
I still can’t watch this film. Jigsaw is always entertaining, I love scares, and I love gore, but having broken nearly 20 bones in my body (a number of compound breaks included), I don’t love that scene, in the least bit. It’s kept me from returning to this film, and that probably won’t change.
