Hands down one of the most heartbreaking, depressing and terrifying films ever made, Inside is special for a number of seasons. First, there’s a truly strong story being told. Second, it toys with the maternal instincts to an unfathomable degree. Third, it’s disgustingly gory.

By the time Inside concludes, you may find yourself in tears, rubbing away at the belly, hoping that feeling of nausea will pass, all the while wondering if a shower might eliminate the filth crawling all over your flesh. But it won’t. Once you’ve seen Inside, there’s no un-seeing it. The movie is just so mind boggling that it buries itself in your psyche for a stretch of time no one would embrace.

My best piece of advice, when it comes to this particular flick is to steer very clear of it if you have children, or are with child. It could – in all honesty – cause a bit of a lasting scar that may not be so easily detected. Especially if that scar tissue is in your brain.
