The 10 Greatest Horror Movies of the 1990s

  1. Sleepy Hollow

After recently re-watching this in the lead up to Halloween I was reminded of just what a fun time it is. Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow varies wildly from its source material, but to my mind it’s for the better, taking what was a fairly simple story and weaving in an intriguing mystery, some haunting imagery, a great villain and Johnny Depp who is Johnny Depping at his best throughout.Tim Burton gave us a wonderfully stylized take on an old horror story and I loved every second of it.

While Tim Burton’s career has taken a bit of a nose dive of late, Sleepy Hollow stands as some of his finest work and it’s a movie I often revisit.
